Cooking mode and timers

When it’s time to actually cook, Expo gives you a focused, step-by-step view designed for the kitchen.

Start cooking

1. Open the recipe you want to cook.
2. Enter cooking mode.
3. Move through the steps one at a time, at your own pace.

Cooking mode keeps the current step front and center so you’re not scrolling through the whole recipe with messy hands.

Timers

When a step involves timing — simmering, baking, resting — you can start a timer right from the step. Expo tracks it for you and alerts you when time’s up, even if you’ve moved on to the next step or switched apps.

Because cooking timers are time-sensitive, Expo can notify you when a timer finishes so you don’t miss it.

Cook hands-free

You don’t have to touch your phone while you cook. With the “Hey Expo” voice assistant you can ask questions and move through a recipe out loud. See The “Hey Expo” voice assistant to set it up.

After you cook

When you finish, you can rate the recipe and leave notes. Your rating helps Expo learn your taste and improves future recommendations.
