Import from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
Turn a social post or cooking video into a full, structured recipe.
A lot of the best recipes live in short videos and social posts. Expo can turn those into a proper recipe you can actually cook from.
Import from a social post or video
- In the app you’re browsing (Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube), copy the link to the post or video — or use the share option.
- Bring that link into Expo and start an import.
- Expo analyzes the post or video and reconstructs the recipe as ingredients and steps.
- Review it, tweak anything you want, and save.
What works best
- Instagram and TikTok posts that show a recipe being made or describe it in the caption.
- YouTube cooking videos where the steps are demonstrated or narrated.
Because social recipes are often loose or sped-up, Expo fills in the structure for you. Always give the result a quick read before cooking, and adjust quantities to taste.
If something is missing
Short videos don’t always spell out every measurement. If a quantity or step is vague, edit the recipe after importing to match what you intended. For recipes that consistently fail to import, email support@heyexpo.com with the link.
